Woodrow M. Poplin, P.E. is President of W. Poplin Engineering LLC and a consulting engineer in the areas of vehicle accident analysis and reconstruction, occupant dynamics, collision analysis, hazards identification, vehicle accident simulation, and computer aided drafting of accident site and accident sequence.  Mr. Poplin received his B.S. degree and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and his Master of Engineering degree in civil engineering from the University of South Carolina.  He is a registered professional engineer and is accredited as a reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR).  During the past 24 years, Mr. Poplin has evaluated over 2300 vehicle accidents approximately 1/3 of which involved heavy trucks.  Mr. Poplin has served as an expert on numerous civil cases and has designed tie down and lifting components used in trucking transportation.
